Promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

This 25 November is an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to combating gender-based violence (GBV), which has a profound effect on the health and well-being of women and girls, particularly among vulnerable populations. GBV is a violation of human rights and an obstacle to gender equality.
In Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, two drop-in-centres (DICs) have been set up with our partners to care for key populations, including sex workers, as part of the POUVOIR project. These centres provide a safe space where women can access health services, temporary accommodation, psychological support and legal advice to help them when they have been victims of violence.
In addition, as part of the SANSAS project, Solthis has developed training to help identify victims and a holistic care circuit for survivors of GBV.

These initiatives demonstrate the importance of community involvement and innovation in the fight against GBV. By providing safe spaces, trained professionals and holistic care, these projects help to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations, while promoting gender equality and human rights.
