Feedback on our conference “Care of one's own”: advancing sexual and reproductive health together
On March 17th, over 220 people participated in our conference “Care of one's own”: advancing sexual and reproductive health together. During this conference, Hélène Bidard, Deputy Mayor of Paris, Ambassador Delphine O, and Juliette Grundman from the French Development Agency reaffirmed their commitment to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
The discussions were divided into two parts. The first panel addressed self-defense and self-gynecology workshops for sex workers in Côte d’Ivoire, “L’Atelier du Minou” in West Africa, and self-testing strategies in Guinea. The second panel highlighted awareness of sexually transmitted diseases in Niger, nutritional monitoring of pregnant young women in Senegal, and the care of survivors of gender-based violence in Sédhiou, Senegal.
Young activist Seynabou Diarra emphasized the importance of placing young people at the heart of care.
Our Technical Director Sophie Ouvrard concluded this afternoon of exchange on bodily autonomy: “My body, my choice, my pleasure.”
