Context : 

The Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation (NNHF) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to improving access to care for people with blood disorders in low- and middle-income countries. The NNHF is implementing a project in Côte d’Ivoire to increase awareness of hemophilia and diagnosis of the disease. Hemophilia is an inherited bleeding disorder that affects approximately one in 10,000 people. People with hemophilia have reduced, defective or absent production of blood-clotting proteins. The project has already led to successful advocacy for the inclusion of hemophilia in the non-communicable disease program and for encouraging the government to purchase hemophilia treatment. The Côte d’Ivoire hemophilia patient association, a partner in the project, participates in the NNHF’s global advocacy program. The objective of the mission is therefore to increase the advocacy capacities of these partners by providing them with structured support, with the aim of enabling them to design, develop and appropriate advocacy strategies and tailor-made action plans, and by providing them with support in a phased manner during the workshops of this global advocacy program.

General objective : Support the Côte d’Ivoire hemophilia patient association in the development and implementation of an advocacy strategy.

Specific objectives :  

• Participate in two online workshop sessions in March and April 
• Support the members of the hemophiliac patients’ association based in Ivory Coast in their development and implementation of an advocacy strategy.
