As part of the program “Strengthening and Decentralizing the National Response to HIV/AIDS in the Republic of Guinea – Civil Society Component” funded by the Global Fund, Solthis has been entrusted by the principal recipient, the international NGO PSI, with activities related to improving prevention and access to care for key populations and combating discrimination and stigmatization against these populations, whose rights are regularly violated.
Objectives
- Improve access to prevention, care, and treatment services for key populations while respecting human rights
- Improve the provision of appropriate services for key populations by strengthening the capacities of health personnel
- Improve the health, social, and legal environment for key populations by establishing a community center offering them support (tailored services, psychosocial care, and legal services) and by advocating against stigmatization and in favor of human rights.
Activities
- Training of health workers in clinics offering night services (in three centers in Conakry)
- Training of providers in tailored service centers on syndromic management of STIs among key populations
- Training of health workers and pharmacists/providers of tailored services on the HIV input management mechanism
- Support for the establishment of a community center in Conakry providing tailored services, psychosocial care, and legal services to key populations
- Organization of educational talks for key populations
- Advocacy: organization of meetings/gatherings on stigma and the human rights of key populations in the context of HIV, aimed at politicians, the media, legal professionals, traditional communicators, and young people (in Conakry and the regions)
