OUR MANDATE

Initially involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa, Solthis has gradually extended its scope of action to known and emerging infectious diseases, to sexual and reproductive health rights issues and to women's and children's health. The original approach, focused on training healthcare workers, strengthening the capacities of healthcare facilities and providing technical assistance to our institutional partners, has been supplemented by an approach centered on the needs of healthcare system users, the support and the empowerment of user networks and communities.
1

EQUITABLE ACCESS

We work to promote equitable access to quality health services and care for all and for the respect of each and every individual’s rights.

Our approach to health promotion is participatory and inclusive. Solthis works to strengthen health systems, civil society organizations and individuals to ensure access to quality services that are more efficient and tailored to the needs of users. The user experience, compliance and retention in care also depend on the integration of non-medical aspects.

2

PARTNERSHIP

We always act in partnership, with a view of non-substitution, of transmission of our activities to national actors, and sustainability.

Solthis relies on the legitimacy of national, institutional, community and scientific actors in defining and implementing national health strategies.

This decentralized and contextualized approach makes it possible to increase the role of the actors closest to the action by working in a non-substitutive manner. To this end, we align our action with national strategies and policies and support our partners based on the needs they express.

3

SUSTAINABLE ACTIONS

Our interventions are carefully thought-out from the outset so that they can be integrated into health systems and community actions, based on a detailed analysis of priority needs, complementary to existing initiatives, and supported by national actors (institutions, health services, communities). This approach, which focuses on partnerships with frontline actors, enables a better appropriation of interventions, a sustainable impact and a smooth transition and scaling up.

Solthis | OUR VALUES

OUR VALUES

Professionalism and accountability

Our teams consist of skilled professionals who are experts in the healthcare field. They have developed effective intervention methods and are committed to being accountable to both the beneficiaries of our actions and our supporters.

Solidarity and commitment

We are part of the international solidarity movement, and we are actively committed to defending the right to health for all.

Equity and inclusion

We are fighting for a fairer world in which each and every one of us is involved in decisions relating to their health and in which access to healthcare is guaranteed for all.

Gender and non-discrimination

In our projects, we collaborate with all our partners and the population. Together, we identify and analyze the socio-cultural, economic, and political determinants as well as the cross-subordination relationships that influence health. Our goal is to empower people to take action and assert their rights to health, including sexual and reproductive rights, non-discrimination and equality.
